Winning British Designer Of the Year was an amazing experience held at Rudding Hall in Harrogate with around seven thousand entrants into the awards.

I was narrowed down to one of three finalists in the Designer Tiara category With over seven hundred people in attendance.

I didn't know I had won until the models wearing the Tiaras had strutted down the cat walk which was the length of a small runway!

Tim Vincent who was then part of the clothes show handed me my award A beautiful glass star from Tiffany's and a certificate. I was completely speechless and proud of what I had achieved.

My Tiara design was very unusual with a twenties theme a feather made completely out of gold wire all hand woven with one antique crystal at the front.

In the Design category the judges were looking for
unusual use of materials and craftsmanship
and so the rest is history!
